Try it before you sign up

On a LiDAR device you can scan a room with no account, then create one and keep the scan in your first job.

Requires: iPhone Pro or iPad Pro with a LiDAR scanner

On a device with a LiDAR scanner, you can scan a real room before you make an account, just to see how the measuring works. If you like it, you create an account and the scan you already did is waiting for you in your first job. Nothing is lost.

You'll need: An iPhone Pro or iPad Pro with a LiDAR scanner. On devices without LiDAR, the invite card doesn't appear. See Scan a room with LiDAR for what LiDAR requires.

Steps

  1. Open the app but don't sign in. On the signed-out screen, look for the card near the top titled "Try it before you sign up", with the line "Scan a room and watch the inventory measure itself. No account needed."

  2. Tap the card. The LiDAR scanner opens, the same one used inside a real job.

  3. Scan a room the normal way: walk it slowly and say what you see. Each item appears as a card you can keep or drop. For the full technique, see Scan a room with LiDAR.

  4. When you're done, finish the scan and review the room, then let it complete.

Result: You return to the sign-in screen, now switched to Create account. A confirmation chip shows what you captured, for example: "[N] items measured in [N] rooms — create your account and they're saved to your first job."

Keep your scan: create an account

Your scan is held in memory while you finish signing up. It survives sign-up, email confirmation, and the create-or-join-a-company step.

  1. Create your account on the Create account screen. See Create your account.
  2. Confirm your email with the 6-digit code.
  3. Create or join a company. See Create or join a company.

Result: The first time your workspace opens, the app creates your first job and imports the scanned rooms into it. That job carries the note "Captured with your first scan, before sign-up." so you can find it easily.

Good to know

  • The guest scan runs with AI off. The try-it scan measures and lets you name items, but cloud AI analysis isn't part of it. AI is a company setting an admin turns on later.
  • It's held in memory only. If you close the app before creating an account, the guest scan is gone. Finish signing up in the same session to keep it.
  • It lands in one job. Everything you captured goes into a single first job, regardless of how many rooms you scanned.

Common mistakes

  • Closing the app mid-signup. The scan isn't saved to disk until it's imported into your workspace. Complete account creation before you leave.
  • Expecting the card on a non-Pro device. The invite only shows on devices with a LiDAR scanner.
