Handling symbols and declared value
Flag how a piece is handled with descriptive symbols like High Value or Crate, and record a declared value. These describe the whole item, not a specific defect.
Some markings describe the whole item rather than a specific defect: whether a piece is crated, serviced by a third party, or high value. Van Line Pro records these as descriptive symbols in the Handling card, and it records a piece's worth as a declared value. These are separate from the pre-existing damage you build in the condition card.

The Handling card
Open an item and find the Handling card. Its footnote reads: "Tag how the item is handled or flagged — High Value, Crate, Third Party Serviced, and so on." Tap a chip to flag the item; tap it again to remove the flag.
The descriptive symbols are:

Each selected symbol prints on the item's line on the exported inventory, using its short badge (PRI, DBO, TPS, HV, CRATE), so the crew and the shipper can see at a glance how a piece is handled.
Declared value and marking High Value
For a valuable piece, expand Item details and open the Valuation card. Its footnote reads: "Set a declared value for high-value items, then flag them HV so they're called out on the inventory."
- Enter a dollar amount in Declared value.
- Once a value is set, a shortcut appears: Mark as High Value (HV). Tap it to add the HV symbol without going back to the Handling card. (You can also toggle HV directly on the Handling card.)
For boxes, the Valuation fields live inside the Size, weight & value drawer instead of a separate card.
Note: A High Value flag records that a piece is valuable, not that it is damaged. It is separate from any condition codes. In moving practice, high value generally means an article worth $100 or more per pound.
High value here is not the 1023 form
Flagging a piece HV on the inventory is a quick handling marker. It is not the same as listing an item on the interstate Items of Extraordinary Value statement (Bekins form 1023), which is a separate move-day form the shipper signs to declare specific high-value articles.
Flag HV on the inventory to call a piece out, and complete the 1023 when the move requires a formal declaration of extraordinary-value articles. See Items of Extraordinary Value (1023).
